Heavenly from Mars -

I have read that the Philippines are losing their rainforests to the foresting industry. How is this legal? I figured this land would be protected. The animals there are losing their homes. Some of the animals I thought we endangered species as well. What can an American do to get involved?

I am unsure how an American could get involved. But if you spread knowledge about this, that is a good first step! If you google around I am sure you can find some good pointers. There's a rainforest over on Vancouver Island, Canada. A certain amount of the rainforest was logged. As predicted, a huge outburst ensued... A lot of the space is now protected from any future logging but i believe there's still some fighting going on to get the entire rainforest to be protected.

I saw on Oprah the other day that rainforests being cleared are hurting the ozone as well. Rainforests are so precious, they should not be destroyed. Al Gore on Oprah really opened my eyes to some of the stupid things we do. I am going to cry if we lose all of the polar bears because the glaciers are melting. :(

Yeah it's really unforunate the things we do to Earth :( One can only hope we manage to save Earth before we completely destroy it. Polar bears! That would be crazy if they stopped existing.

It is all no problem if evolution can keep pace... in a few hundred or thousand years we'll breat carbon dixoide rather than oxygen and 250 degrees will be a cool day and chemcial factory sludge not only a delicious meal but a healthy one too.

Boy Red, that is a very scary thought. I don't think our bodies were made to adapt to something like that. I wish everyone would do what they can so our children and our childrens children can continue our good habits.

help the rainforest from logging companies, by offers.......get petitions....and tell them they have to either completely stop cutting, , , , or after they cut theve got to let it grow back, instead of building over the terrain......
