Living in Philippines Life, Philippines
SandraDee from The Boardwalk -
I have heard that many Filipinos spend time working abroad so they can help their families. Plus other countries pay much more per hour as compared to in the Philippines so they can make more money and then go home and stretch the money further. That is really a great idea for a Filipino. Yeah I have noticed that a lot Filipino girls come to America as a nanny or caregiver for an elder who is willing to sponsor the Filipino girl. That's a pretty nice arrangement, but I wonder what happens if the girl decides she does not want to be a nanny anymore?

Well there are many jobs Filipino men or women can do in America if they have a social security number. The ones that don't have residency/ssn's have trouble getting jobs. There is a Swift plant near where I live and there was a raid today to arrest the illegal immigrants. I feel bad for the families that are affected by this. It is just too bad we can't come up with a better way of going about this.

Aw that is sad about the raid. It really is not the best way to go at it because all the families are punished and are bring hurt by losing their jobs. I know they should not be illegal in the first place but it can be very tough to do it the proper way as it costs a lot of money and if you are really poor in the first place.. It might as well be impossible.

Yeah, it is very disturbing, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere. I know a girl from the Philippines as a matter of fact that is an illegal immigrant. She has three children that are American under the age of five. What do you do in that situatuon. I find it aweful that you would deport their mother.
