Langka

Recipes and Food from Philippines.
Recipes and Food, Philippines

Gardenia from The Flower Patch -

Does anyone know where I can find some Langka in the United States. I have had it from the Philippines a couple of times when friends brought it back, and it is so delicious and soft. If you have never tried it, I recommend it to anyone.

I actually have never heard of it before. Also seems that google does not know much about it. I found this though [sounds yummy!]:

mmm.... I love cheesecake. Any kind of cheesecake is great to me. I am going to try the recipe and I will let you all know how it turns out. My brother in law has a brother that married a Filipino girl and she said she would help me make it. But, she said she has had Langka but never langka cheesecake.

Langka is called jackfruit in the US. They are usually found in processed food form and canned in most oriental food stores. If you are in Southern California you can find them in Seafood City or any store that caters to oriental consumers.
