I actually think Samal is an island of the Philippines. It is also refered to the Garden City Islands. I would be curious for more information as well......

I just found this out:
Samal is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bataan, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 27, 410 people in 5, 429 households. Rolando Z. Tigas is the Municipal Mayor of Samal, Bataan.
